and now, a rant…
Google maps. god dammit.
this morning i looked up directions to work for the day and google maps tried to send me down the Lindbergh Dr. exit on I-85 south. Now for those of you who do not have a map built into your head and are thinking "so?" let me explain.
Lindbergh Dr. exit is HOV-only.
This means i needed another person in my car to take that exit, and i drive alone (because i’m such a bad-ass rebel.. with my blog and all). therefore i could not go this way. Fortunately I realized this before i got to said exit and got off at north druid hills, pulled out a map, and charted my own way to my destination.
Fortunately, i didn’t get there late because i ended up being early… by about an hour… so far… so i was able to go to a near by wendy’s (which is where i am now) and report this issue to google… or more correctly, the company they get their map data from… though it was a bitch to figure out how to do that… we shall see if this gets resolved at all and hopefully save others from the potential of being trapped on I-85 south trying to find the next exit after lindbergh that would let them turn around. (Which by the way would be going past GA-400 south dumping into I-85 South, past the 75 north exit, all the way to 17th street, then going over to west peachtree and taking old 85 back, getting off at sydney marcus and cutting over to lindbergh from there, via peidmont. simple, no?)
