Xbox is repaired!
January 22nd, 2009Huzzah! my Xbox is repaired, It’s now under warranty, and it’s being shipped, very soon!
Now that i’ve been handled…. alright, let me explain what happened…
I bought a brand spanking new Xbox 360 Arcade from Microcenter on the 26th of December. As most of you know, I’m not fond of Microsoft (Who makes the xbox) and have generally been in want of a Wii… until the price of the Xbox dropped… and it got Soul Calibur 4… and I wathed too many people play Fallout 3…. And i got Guitar Hero 4 for the xbox for christmas (which is another story).
Anyway, I finally decided to buy an Xbox, and I did. and it was… well… Heaven is not the term since I felt rather dirty for using it, but it was fun and enjoyable, and I’d reached a point where I was content with it. So the Xbox’s disc drive decided to stop working.
Well, I was pissed to say the least. I tried all of the suggestions on Microsoft’s website to get it to work and none of them worked. It was simply fucked up. That’s when things got ugly.
Not only was i pissed at my Xbox now, When I went to put in a repair request, Microsoft’s website said that my Warranty had expired on the 7th of December… A full 19 Days before I had bought the console.
I was livid, and I sincerely apologize right now to anyone who had been in the immediate vicinity right then. It was just so frustrating… So i put in the repair request, paid $94, made them send me a box (because like hell if i was going to spend anymore god damned money to get this thing fixed), and waited…
Fortunately I was able to still use it to play Demos, and anything downloaded onto my hard drive so it wasn’t a complete loss those couple of days before the box arrived.
the box finally Arrived, I filled out my warranty dispute form (which you have to send in with the broken console… meaning you have to pay them to see your warranty dispute… asshats), and went to go make a copy of my receipt…. and I couldn’t find it. It wasn’t near my fallout 3 receipt (which i had bought at gamestop on the same day, not Microcenter since they were… out?) and i couldn’t find it anywhere. I was in a panic. I decided I needed to look in stupid places for it, so I started with my GH4 box (which you’ll remember I got as a gift) and there it was. Thank god I had not thrown that box away.
I quickly made a copy of the receipt, stapled it to the warranty dispute, put everything in the box and shipped it off. That was the 14th of January.
Hopefully it will be here in a couple of days… seeing as how I am coming down with a cold.
Time to go clean.
