Football or GTA?
An article I found through a /. post expresses my opinions perfectly.
It seems to me that if people were to actually own up to stuff, society as a whole would progress a bit faster. For instance, rather then blaming the television for your child’s bad behavior, perhaps think that maybe by not giving them enough attention and telling them to go watch tv, you have caused them to behave poorly.
Now just incase anyone is wondering, no. That is not a reality i have been exposed to. My parents are wonderful people who have shown me great love and understanding. They have also taught me how to think well. I love my parents dearly and really don’t express it enough.
Anyway, back to the point.
Rather then sitting on their asses and launching investigations on video games because a sex scene from one that has been pulled from the shelves, rated X, not sold in normal stores and made notorious might have caused permanent damage to their child’s life because they heard the word sex, perhaps our government could actually do something real like an investigation of why all these teenagers keep driving off the road and getting killed? what conditions were there to cause such a thing? I think when we look into matters that will actually affect the mortality of people later on, we will accomplish more then just blaming it on whatever voters want to hear so you can get re-elected.
