Halloween

Halloween is upon us once again. Generally this time of year I am planning to go to some form of party, or at least hang out with friends. Or go somewhere just to be seen in costume, such as work, a friends house, anything. Unfortunately it is beginning to look more and more like that will not be happening this year. The party that I would move probably ended up going to I was unable to due to the fact that I am under 21. That seems to be an issue as of late. Apparently the restaurants in Little five points tend to have a rule that after nine o’clock, no one is allowed in under 21. Well, except for Elmyr. But I do get tired of nachos after a while. Ahhh… only six months left. Heck, less than six months.

Also for those of you not in the know, I will be out of town November 3-5. I will be going to Pennsylvania to visit Evelyn.

Another thing for those of you really not in the know, Evelyn and I are dating… ish… you really can’t date somebody when you live several states away. We are currently in a long-distance relationship. I won’t talk about that here though, I’d rather not bore you with details.

It’s amazing how much I want to say, but I don’t want this to turn into an angsty blog post. Which it could very well do if I continue talking. I think I will stop while I’m ahead.

lots of new toys

so I’ve given in to the dark side. I’ve recently purchased a Macbook in order to help facilitate me being a stage manager for synchronicity theater group.now I know that in the past I’ve been rather critical of Macs, but they have slowly grown on me. Especially since I found out that they are very good looking boxes that are really designed for developers. Since all Macs come with PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby, TCL/TK, bash, SSH, and all sorts of other cool UNIX tools, I have been able to use Macs pretty well over at 7 Stages.

I’ve also started using iTunes since it came with my Mac, and I have purchased the entire season three of Battle Star Galactica, which is delivered to me weekly through iTunes. I can then watch it whenever I feel like it. It’s freaking awesome.

Thirdly, I bought Dragon Systems NaturallySpeaking version 9 today. That is how I’m currently making this post. Version 9 is way better than previous versions they have made. I quite literally installed this less than an hour ago, trained at once, and I am able to make this entire post with only three mistakes so far. Okay make that four. I am very impressed with how well it works with certain programs, such as X-Chat, trillian, and Firefox. I have not yet tried it with Word, or any form of e-mail program. I think my next test is to try it out with Gmail. Wow this is capitalizing everything right.

If this continues to work out I might actually blog a bit more frequently. I know some of you would be eager for me to be doing that. Hopefully I will find this ex-ordinarily useful, as I use it to write up reports, make conversation, and see what limits I can push with this software.

This is freaking amazing.
