Well, there’s been an update to the LivePress plugin and so i’ve upgraded to wordpress 2.0.1 which has some interesting features. anyway, I hope this works right, but i really haven’t had a chance to play with it much, so i’ll play with it and get back to you about that.

BUAHAHAHAH!! take that spammers!

so yeah, i’ve been getting a bit of spam behind the scenes here, and fortunately for y’all, I screen comments before they are posted, saving y’all from lots of information about phentermine and gay sex.

anyway, i’ve just implemented a Captcha system for comments. hopefully, this will cut down on alot of spam.

Also, i would like to note, i will not be able to be contacted at all, except by cell phone, on sunday monday and tuesday. it’s the start of hell week for fathers and daughters, and i shall be staying at a friends house in order to have a shorter ride to the theatre, and be able to not have an hour commute.

hopefully, i’ll have some interesting content to tell you about soon, but until then, adios! and tell me if the captchas are okay, or if they are too hard.

Update: Okay, so now i’ve switched the settings to using fabulousgeek.com and not the backup subdomain.

NaNoWriMo?

My good friend, Caddris, is currently participating is NaNoWriMo, which as i understand it is something along the lines of a write-a-so-many-word-story-by-the-end-of-the-month contest? i don’t know. ANYWAY, Cad has a nice story (a bit gory i will admit), but is having trouble keeping up the pace needed.

So go support Caddris’ writing, dammit!

Google Ads

So, you might notice (maybe you don’t) I’ve just added some Google Ads to my site. Yup, I have advertisements. Now most of the time I object to ads being on a site, but usually, that’s because I’m not the one getting money from it.

so yeah… this is an experiment. Maybe I’ll start making money from this…. who knows….

I think the site might be FUBAR. I’m going to try posting and see if that does anything… hey, maybe i should check the database too…

Update: It looks like Gravatar.com has forgotten to update their DNS again. the funtion was getting an error for some reason (it was trying to cache the gravatar i suppose.) and so wasn’t letting the page display.

I’ve disabled gravatars for now. tell me if you get any errors.

I’m Back from Dragon*Con, and i will update this damned thing soon, don’t fret.

Okay, sorry about being down. My host was having some trouble with the SQL server, but everything is okay now. also, i’ve updated the structure of how the links on fabulousgeek work. so basically all of the stuff on ly livejournal and xanga will be wrong. sorry about that, but i think you’ll learn to deal with it.
